Special Delivery

Sadie sets out to bring an elephant to Great-Aunt Josephine, who lives alone and needs company. Her trip takes her through a series of unusual attempts and modes of travel: she considers mailing the elephant, then travels by airplane, train, and alligator. Along the route she meets odd characters as she continues toward her aunt’s home. The story traces Sadie’s journey to deliver the elephant and give her great-aunt companionship.
