Song in the City
Daniel Bernstrom
Emmalene, a blind girl, notices music in the everyday sounds of her busy city. Her grandmother, Grandma Jean, initially hears those same sounds as noise. As they spend time together, Emmalene helps her grandmother attend to the sounds around them in a new way. Illustrated by Jenin Mohammed, the book centers on their shared experience of the city’s soundscape.
