Saving Hamlet

Emma Allen begins her sophomore year as assistant stage manager for her school drama club’s production of Hamlet. Brandon, the boy she likes, is directing the play. Emma then travels to sixteenth-century England, where she gains insight into Shakespeare’s work. Her experience is tied to efforts to support her school’s unsteady production, bringing together the work of staging Hamlet and a journey into its historical period.
