REINA RAMOS WORKS IT OUT
Emma Otheguy, illustrated by Andrés Landazábal
When Mr. Li announces a class wax museum, Reina plans to portray Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, a Latina figure she admires. Her friend Nora chooses Frida too, unaware of Reina’s plan, leaving Reina upset and creating conflict between them. With guidance from her abuela and the encouragement of music, Reina reconciles with Nora and selects another person to portray.
