Pax

Peter and Pax, the fox Peter found as an orphaned pup and raised, are separated when Peter’s father leaves to join a war and takes Peter to live with his grandfather. Abandoned beside a road, Pax must survive without Peter while gradually forming ties with other foxes. Peter runs away, determined to find him, but an accident leaves him recovering with Vola, a reclusive veteran wrestling with her memories of war. Told in alternating perspectives, the story follows both boy and fox as they struggle toward reunion against a near-future war.
