Optimists Die First

After her sister’s death, Petula de Wilde shuts herself away and becomes intensely fearful of danger. A formerly happy teen who enjoyed crafts, she now has to attend an art-therapy program at school with a group she sees as misfits. There she meets Jacob, who has a prosthetic arm and a secret of his own. Their friendship, and possibly something more, is part of Petula’s effort to face fears connected to her family’s loss.
