Narwhal

This nonfiction picture book follows a narwhal in the Arctic Ocean. During winter, when ice covers much of the water, the animal surfaces through an open patch, its long tusk pointing upward. The book describes the tusk as a six-foot tooth and follows the narwhal as it moves with its pod, jousts with another narwhal, and uses echolocation to locate prey. It presents narwhals as Arctic mammals sometimes called underwater unicorns.
