Mr. Crum’s Potato Predicament
Anne Renaud
In upstate New York during the 1850s, chef George Crum faces a demanding restaurant customer. Filbert P. Horsefeathers orders potatoes, but rejects the servings that George prepares, complaining that they are too thick. After the fussy patron returns the order twice, George decides to have some fun. The story is based on the account of how the potato chip was first invented.
