Mouse & Giraffe
Kelly DiPucchio
Mouse and Giraffe experience the same weather from very different vantage points. When the sun is out, Mouse can rest in shade, while Giraffe’s great height leaves him overheated. Rain reverses the problem: Giraffe stays dry high above the clouds as Mouse is caught in the storm. Because they seem unable to agree, the story asks whether the two friends can understand how the other sees things. Bright artwork combines gouache, ink, and pencil.
