Under a large palm at the edge of a desert, an entire civilization of beetles lives in isolation. A group of daring beetles sets out on a scientific expedition, making discoveries that unsettle how their homeland understands the world. Dynamic drawings accompany their journey from a sheltered society toward unexpected findings beyond its established view. The story places exploration and scientific investigation inside a beetle civilization whose ideas are challenged by what the expedition uncovers.
