King of the Sky

A boy leaves his home in Italy and moves to Wales, where he feels lonely. Mr. Evans’s racing pigeons, kept in a loft behind his house, become a source of comfort. The tale brings together the boy, an older man, and a pigeon as it considers what it means to be alone, to find connection, and to make a home after a move. A pigeon race is part of the story.
