Ira Crumb Makes a Pretty Good Friend

Ira Crumb is a new kid preparing for the beginning of a new school year. He expects to be alone at recess, during lunch, and on the walk home. Dreading his arrival at a new school, Ira wants to make friends and tries to contact classmates before school begins. The story follows his hopes and worries about meeting other children and no longer facing the day alone.
