Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus

Thirteen-year-old Aven, who was born without arms, moves to a new state and must adjust to a new school. She lives at a struggling western theme park, where new friends and a mystery become part of her life. Although she can do many things independently, she faces challenges created by other people’s reactions to her body, including being treated as though she is strange. The story follows her efforts to cope with these changes.
