How to Two
David Soman
A counting story begins with one child on a playground and grows as more children join the afternoon’s play. A girl joins the first child on a teeter-totter, then another child arrives for jump rope. The group expands through activities including foursquare, the sandbox, and puddle jumping after rain, until it reaches ten. At dusk, adults lead the children away in a countdown that returns to one and then two at home.
