Adam Reed’s basketball ability has carried him from an orphanage in Poland to life with his adoptive mother in Minnesota. Selected for an AAU team with some of the state’s strongest players, he sees the sport as a path toward friendships, a relationship, and a better future. But Adam faces a hard decision when an injustice affects a teammate: he must consider whether pursuing that future means sacrificing his chance to stand up for someone else.
