Henry Aaron’s Dream tells of Henry Aaron’s ambition to become a major-league baseball player. Growing up in the segregated South, he lacked a bat and a ball, and no Black ballplayers were then in the major leagues. After Jackie Robinson integrated baseball, Aaron’s own goal was realized. The book traces the path from those early obstacles to his becoming baseball’s home-run king, with realistic mixed-media illustrations.
