Halfway There: A Graphic Memoir of Self-Discovery

Christine is nineteen and spends a college year in Japan. She has a Japanese mother and a white American father, and bullying has affected her mental health. In Tokyo, she seeks the possibility of a new beginning while trying to reconcile the two parts of her mixed-race identity. The graphic memoir uses expressive artwork in a muted palette to portray this period of her life.
