Grenade

When the Battle of Okinawa opens on April 1, 1945, Hideki, an Okinawan teenager, is conscripted into the Blood and Iron Student Corps and receives two grenades. His journey across the island brings him into conflict with the command to kill American soldiers and leads to his father, a Marine in his first battle. Hideki also meets Ray, a young American Marine, with serious consequences for them both.
