Finding Normal

After a severe storm floods Temple’s neighborhood, the twelve-year-old and her family move to another town. They obtain temporary housing, but Temple finds it difficult to begin at a new school in the middle of the year and to face classmates’ attention to her family’s circumstances. At home, the family works to adjust while trying to work out how they can pay to rebuild. Temple also organizes a fundraiser after the flood uproots her family.
