After years of waiting with heart failure, seventeen-year-old Sydney Wells receives a heart transplant. Her former routine centered on staying indoors, following a heart-healthy diet, and sharing experiences with her distant friend Chloe, who also has heart failure. Sydney becomes determined to learn about her likely donor, Mia, and enters Mia’s family’s world after finding them. At Mia’s memorial she meets Clayton, but he and Mia’s brother Tanner are keeping secrets. Meanwhile, Chloe’s health worsens far away.
