Elinor McGrath, Pet Doctor: The Story of America’s First Female Veterinarian

In 1907, Elinor McGrath decides to become a veterinarian, although the profession is considered unsuitable for women. After entering veterinary school, she is one of 137 male students, whose treatment makes clear that she is not welcome. Elinor persists despite ongoing criticism.
