Dragonflies of Glass: The Story of Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls
Susan Goldman Rubin, illustrated by Susanna Chapman
This nonfiction picture book introduces Clara Driscoll and the women artists known as the Tiffany Girls. Drawn to nature from childhood, Clara wanted to become an artist at a time when few career paths were open to women. After joining the Tiffany Glass Company in 1888, she became responsible for a staff of 35 women designers. Together they developed patterns, selected colors and shapes, and assembled glass into lamps, murals, windows, vases, and clocks.
