Kassandra Conner transfers to St. Lawrence Academy, hoping its diving opportunities will offer something her former school lacked. Instead, she feels isolated as her best friend Aleah pulls away, her family's restaurant struggles, and she faces the state's leading diver on her team. Kass is a talented diver but has no friends at the new school. She joins Miles in dumpster diving, an activity that makes her question whether he can be trusted.
