Displaced

Thirteen-year-old Hadi Toma and his Syrian refugee family are displaced in Beirut. To help them survive, Hadi sells gum on the street, where two refugee teenagers are trying to earn a living in a country that does not welcome them. Desperate to make a home for his family, Hadi makes a poor decision that puts them at risk. The novel follows the pressures of displacement, street work, family responsibility, and the consequences of survival-driven choices.
