Dear Substitute

When Miss Pelly arrives as a substitute teacher, a young girl objects to the changed classroom routine. Miss Pelly does things differently from the regular teacher and can be silly. The girl's response is told through a sequence of letters and poems. As the day continues, she recognizes that the unfamiliar approach may not be entirely bad. Watercolor and gouache illustrations accompany her letters about the substitute.
