Dear Abuelo

Juana is a young Mexican girl who moves with her family from Mexico to New York City. As she settles into her new life, she misses her beloved grandfather, who remains in Mexico. Juana records the parts of her new experiences in letters addressed to him, creating an account of family separation and connection across countries. Colorful illustrations accompany her move, the life she begins in New York, and the correspondence that lets her share it with her abuelo.
