Dangerous Jane

This picture-book biography recounts Jane Addams’s work for social justice and peace. As a child, she felt empathy for people in need. A visit to a London settlement house inspired her to open Chicago’s Hull House, which helped people in need, particularly immigrants and impoverished residents. During World War I, Addams helped create the Women’s Peace Party, then headed the International Congress of Women. She later received the Nobel Peace Prize for her work.
