Counting Thyme

Eleven-year-old Thyme Owens's younger brother, Val, is accepted into a cancer drug trial, giving him another chance at treatment. The trial requires the family to move to New York, far from Thyme's best friend and her life in San Diego. Thyme tries to treat the change as temporary, but she also feels guilty for longing to go home while her brother receives care. The story follows a family navigating illness, relocation, and competing feelings.
