BETWEEN MONSTERS AND MARVELS

Dare Coates suspects monsters are still present in Barrow’s Bay after her father, the Captain of the Guard, dies while on patrol. Others say the monsters disappeared long ago, but Dare doubts their explanation. Her concern grows when the governor, newly married to her mother, sends her to the mainland, taking her away from the chance to investigate what happened to her father. As Dare learns more, her family becomes tied to a wider operation.
