A young Black girl wakes when a blue-collared black cat enters through a porthole of light and takes her own cat’s red mouse toy. She follows the cats into a bright, unfamiliar space, moving through openings and an Escher-like staircase. There she encounters children at play alongside doubles distinguished by the colors of their clothes. Eventually, the girl meets a version of herself in an adventure through another world.
