American Road Trip

Teodoro “T” Avila’s plans for the summer before his final year of high school change when his brother Manny returns from Iraq with PTSD. T’s sister, Xochitl, takes the brothers on a road trip in an effort to help Manny and bring their family together. Told through T’s perspective, the novel follows three siblings as they respond to their brother’s mental illness and the altered realities it creates at home. It also includes T’s close friend and a developing romance.
