Alone

Maddie wakes after a canceled sleepover to learn that her Colorado town has been evacuated. Left behind without power, phone service, or internet, she moves between the houses of her divorced parents as she learns how to survive alone. George, a Rottweiler, and the books she finds provide company. Over the months, Maddie relies on her own ingenuity while confronting natural disasters, looters, and wild animals. Told in free verse.
