All the Stars Denied

During the Great Depression, Estrella lives in a Texas border community affected by Dust Bowl drought and escalating hostility toward Mexican Americans. As discriminatory signs appear and resentment grows among white farmers, she organizes a protest over the treatment of Tejanos. Her family then becomes caught in repatriation efforts that send people to Mexico regardless of citizenship. Estrella, her mother, and her baby brother struggle to survive away from home and seek a way to return.
