All the Blues in the Sky

Written in prose and free verse, this novel follows Sage after her best friend dies on Sage’s thirteenth birthday. The celebration and planned sunrise give way to grief, leaving Sage without the person with whom she shared secrets and dreams. In a counseling group, she encounters the idea that losses differ from one another and that recovery does not follow a predictable course. The story centers on bereavement and Sage’s path through it.
