In 1934 Los Angeles, eighteen-year-old Henrietta pursues an acting career despite her family’s doubts and reports that aspiring starlets have vanished. A studio offers her a major film role and sends her on a publicity tour with Declan, an actor assigned to pose as her boyfriend.
