A Kunwinjku Counting Book

This counting book introduces animals from Australia’s West Arnhem Land through numbers and Kunwinjku cultural art. A crocodile, snake-necked turtles in a billabong, and water goannas are among the native animals that appear as the counting progresses. Illustrations draw inspiration from ancient rock art of western Australia and accompany information about Aboriginal culture and wildlife. Back matter includes a guide to pronunciation, adding context for the Kunwinjku language used in the book.
