A Conspiracy of Stars

Octavia lives beneath a dome on Faloiv, a planet settled by explorers, and dreams of becoming a whitecoat scientist who studies its plants and animals. When secretive laboratories open to students, she gets a chance to see their work firsthand. After witnessing an attack on one of the Faloii, the planet’s Indigenous people, Octavia begins questioning her family history and the scientists she has admired. She uncovers experiments that threaten an already fragile peace between the human settlers and the Faloii.
